Singapore GP circuit at night with fireworks

Max Verstappen returned to his winning ways at the Bahrain GP in Malaysia, a race that tested the patience of drivers, teams, spectators and television viewers while rain affected the power units and new software had to be written and issued to the teams. Then the cars had to be updated with it. Some may call this 53-minute delay to the race start farcical. Others are singing the praises of the FIA for realising the problem and solving it as quickly as they did …

World Driver’s Championship leader Kimi Antonelli found himself in a World Champion sandwich on the podium with 4-time champion Max Verstappen finishing first and 7-time champion Lewis Hamilton 3rd. Maybe Max will make a charge on the championship in the last races of the year, just like last year. Oscar Piastri had a better race than he has had in a while and another world champion, Fernando Alonso, finished in the points.

Honorary Australian driver Valtteri Bottas made the 350-kilometre journey from Sepang to Singapore on a mountain bike. Finnish Valtteri and his Australian partner, cyclist Tiffany Cromwell, often post vision of themselves cycling in various locations, including McLaren Vale in South Australia where they own a vineyard with visitor accommodation. VB will even carry your bags if he is there.

Best part of a night race in Formula 1? Fireworks. The Singapore Grand Prix races at night so this design features a grey track outline, rather than the usual black stitching.
